Stone Age morning

Lesson: Topic

Class: Year 3 Year: 2016 - 2017

Year 3 had a fantastic morning with Mr and Mrs Trevor from 10,000 Years BC (http://www.10000yearsbc.co.uk/index.html).

We started by discussing Mr Trevor's job as an archaeologist and then we all had a go by looking at different artefacts and using clues to establish what and how old they were.

We then looked at different types of cave painting and learnt about the different materials Stone Age man would have used to create them.

After break, we used our imagination to visualise what it would be like to come face to face with a Stone Age man, and when we opened our eyes... we did! Mr Trevor had donned his red deer skin Stone Age man outfit and we all had lots of questions about how it was made and about the interesting tools he was carrying.

It was a very exciting morning and what a lot we all learnt!
